Health and well being
Throughout the year, ADComms’ Health and Wellbeing programme spotlights a different topic every month to raise awareness, provide information and offer support to staff and their families. In 2018 we did the following;
January – Alcohol Awareness – We arranged a Mocktail Event to promote managing alcohol consumption.
February – Prostate Cancer Awareness – A representative from charity ‘Prostate Cancer UK’ delivered a presentation on awareness and available support.
March – Coping with Change – Leaflets and posters were displayed across our offices providing hint and tips, and information of support services.
April – Mental Health – A representative from charity ‘Mind’ delivered a presentation raising awareness about mental health issues and available support.
May – Exercise – Encouraged weekly walks and free fruit provided for staff.
June – Taking care in the sun – Mocktail event and free raffle for sun-care products.
July – Smoking – Representative from North Lincolnshire Council spoke to staff about the effects of smoking and support to help give up.
August – Back Care & Posture – Chiropractor visited the unit to advise staff on correct posture and short assessment for spinal problems.
September -Winter Health – Flu jab vouchers were issued and posters displayed on how to protect yourself from winter health problems.
October – Know your numbers – A representative from Westfield Health undertook mini health checks for staff. This included: height, weight, BMI, body fat, waist size, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol.
November – Cope better with Pressure – Leaflets and posters were displayed in the offices to provide information on mental health, stress and pressure.
December – Work life balance – Leaflets and posters were displayed in the offices to provide information on how to balance work and personal life.
